The Real Problem
You're doing a lot. But does it all tell the right story?
Some students come to us with a packed profile. Others are just getting started and want to build in the right direction. Either way, the hard part isn't the list of activities. It's knowing what any of it is worth to the schools and scholarships you're aiming at.
?
Which of my experiences actually matter?
?
How do the things I do fit together?
?
Where are the gaps in my profile?
?
What do my target programs and scholarships value?
?
How do I position myself honestly without underselling it?
?
What should I prioritize next?
Apex exists to answer those questions and turn them into one clear strategy, plus a short list of things worth doing next.

01
Assess
Before your session you complete a short intake questionnaire: marks, activities, goals, your typical week, and what you’re worried about. Parents fill in their own section. We review all of it before we meet.

Together we set your reach / match / safe list, pick the scholarships worth aiming for, choose the big moves that fit you, like research, an internship or a passion project, and define what your application should make readers remember.

Poojan S.
BBA at the Schulich School of Business
“Shaun and Manroop were incredibly helpful throughout the university application process. Their guidance made everything much clearer and helped me feel more confident. Their advice on improving my application played a key role in helping me land an offer from the Schulich School of Business, and their networking advice also helped me secure an internship at Deloitte. I highly recommend them to anyone going through the university admissions process or looking for guidance on their future career and overall direction.”
Rhythm P.

Received a $120K full-ride scholarship offer to University of Toronto Engineering
“Shaun and Manroop were really helpful in shaping how I presented my experiences for my university applications. I had worked on machine learning research, software internships, startup growth, and social media, and they helped me bring everything together into a clear story that reflected my interests and personality. Their guidance helped refine my direction and made my applications much more cohesive. I would definitely recommend them to anyone applying to university.”
Sahil S.

They helped me understand how to present my experiences clearly and structure my applications in a way that highlighted my strengths. Their guidance made the process much less stressful and gave me more confidence in my direction. I would definitely recommend them to any student navigating university applications or thinking about their future career path.”
Apex doesn't claim credit for any admissions or scholarship decision. Universities and scholarship organizations make those calls.
What Makes Apex Different
More than application advice. A strategy built around you.
Not tutoring
We aren’t here to help you get through your next math test.
Not generic admissions advice
Your strategy is based on your actual profile, goals, and timeline.
Not essay writing
We help you communicate your own experiences effectively rather than writing your application for you.
Not a one-size-fits-all checklist
Your next steps depend on where you are starting from.
Who Is This For?
Wherever you are in high school, start from where you are.
Grades 9 to 12 all work. What changes is the plan, and how much of it is still ahead of you.
Grade 9–10
“I’m early in high school and want to get this right.”
Build the right habits, find a direction and start small projects now, instead of scrambling in Grade 12.
We've recently been through this process ourselves.
Apex was built by students who navigated competitive Canadian university admissions, major scholarships, extracurricular positioning, projects, and opportunities, recently enough to remember exactly how unstructured it felt. We're making that process structured for the students coming after us.

Our own results are context for how we think about applications, not a promise of what any student will receive. Admissions and scholarship decisions are made by universities and scholarship organizations.
The Apex Network
Guidance from people who've actually been there.
Beyond the two of us, Apex has a broader network of university students, graduates, professionals, and mentors across different programs and career paths. When a student's questions are better answered by someone already inside that program or field, we try to connect them.
Network access is included with Apex Advantage, where relevant and appropriate. We don't promise a specific introduction or a specific person, only that we'll use the network we have when it genuinely helps.

FAQ
Questions, answered straight.
Who is Apex for?
Ambitious Canadian high school students in Grades 9–12 who are aiming for competitive university programs, major scholarships, or both. Parents usually book, and are involved throughout, but the plan is built around the student, because it only works if they own it.
What grade should I be in?
Any grade from 9 to 12 works. The plan just changes. In Grades 9–10 we focus on habits, direction and small first projects. Grade 11 is the key profile-building year, so we focus on your theme, your big moves and your summer. In Grade 12 we focus on applications, essays, scholarship deadlines and interviews.
Is it too late if I’m already in Grade 12?
No. Grade 12 sessions spend less time on exploring and more on what’s still ahead: your final school list, essays, scholarship deadlines and interview prep. Apex Advantage is built for this stage. If your deadlines are close, book a free call and we’ll tell you honestly what is still realistic.
What exactly do I get from Apex Strategy?
A short intake questionnaire, a 2-hour 1-on-1 session, and a written Apex Roadmap delivered within 3 business days. The roadmap comes as a PDF summary, a Notion workspace you own, and a recorded video walkthrough. It covers your reach / match / safe list, the habits to fix, step-by-step plans for research, internships or a passion project, your weekly schedule, a scholarship shortlist and a dated 30-day checklist. You also get the Apex resource library and a 30-minute follow-up call within 60 days.
How does the upgrade credit work?
Start with Apex Strategy. If you upgrade to Apex Momentum or Apex Advantage within 30 days, the full $249 is credited toward your new package.
Do you offer payment plans?
Yes. Apex Momentum is $1,199 CAD, or 3 monthly payments of $400. Apex Advantage is $2,999 CAD, or 6 monthly payments of $500. Apex Strategy is a single payment of $249 CAD.
How does essay and application editing work?
Editing is part of Apex Advantage. It covers your essays and supplementary applications, plus support with your scholarship applications, including essays and reference strategy. You write, and we give feedback and edits.
Do you write my essays for me?
No. You write; we help you find the right story and give detailed feedback and edits where your package includes it. The writing stays yours.
Is this tutoring?
No. Apex focuses on application strategy, planning and execution: what to do, in what order, and how to present it. We don’t teach course content or prepare you for school tests.
Do I need to know what university or program I want?
No. “No idea yet” is a perfectly good answer on the intake form. Narrowing down a direction and a target list is part of the session.
Can parents be involved?
Yes. Parents fill in their own short section of the intake form, join the first 10 and last 15 minutes of the strategy session, and get the PDF summary of the roadmap. The student has the middle of the session on their own, because students tend to be more open that way.
Do you guarantee admission or scholarships?
No. Admissions and scholarship decisions are made by universities and scholarship organizations. Apex provides a clear plan, preparation, feedback and accountability.
Which package should I choose?
Apex Strategy ($249) if you want a clear written plan and are confident following it yourself. Apex Momentum ($1,199) if you are in Grades 9–11 and want coaching and accountability while you build your profile. Apex Advantage ($2,999) if you are in Grades 11–12 and want hands-on help with applications, essays, scholarships and interviews. Not sure? Book a free 15-minute call.
